Taylormade R15 Driver Adjustment Guide + (CHART)

Is The Taylormade R15 Driver Adjustable?

The Taylormade R15 Driver is adjustable. When you take a closer look at your Taylormade R15 Driver, you will find that it has two distinct moveable parts: the hosel sleeve, and the sliding weights.

  • The loft, which is the biggest adjustment concerned with the entry point of the shaft into the hosel sleeve
  • The front track system, which consists of two silver sliding split weights on the sole

Even though you have a few adjustability options on your hand with the R15 Driver, it takes only a few seconds to modify your club according to the specifications.

The adjustable 4° loft sleeve gives you the chance to choose your launch conditions, making this club flexible to use for all types of golfers.

Is The Taylormade R15 Driver Forgiving?

The Taylormade R15 Driver is forgiving. In terms of playability and accuracy, it is truly unbeatable.

The R15 Driver has two 12.5-gram movable weights at the toe as well as the heel. This makes it very forgiving, even if you don’t make perfect contact with the ball. The R15 Driver will still get the ball in the fairway.

Even though the R15 Driver is forgiving, users have observed that it is intended primarily for professional players.

High-level amateurs may also give the R15 Driver a shot. Users of the R15 Driver also observe that it is not easy to curve the ball. It works best for relatively straight shots.

How to Adjust the Loft on My Taylormade R15 Driver?

The loft on the Taylormade R15 Driver can be adjusted up to 4 degrees using its hosel sleeve.

  1. First, you use your wrench to unscrew the 2-degree hosel sleeve. This is where the shaft will go
  2. If you spin this around, the head will come off, and you will have access to the neck. The loft is adjustable up to 4 degrees
  3. You will notice 12 notches, all of which are different from one another, around the circumference of the hosel sleeve. Every position will result in a different head angle of the loft setting
  4. There will also be a visible arrow right on top of the hosel. This is meant to give you some direction on where the hosel needs to be set in order for your chosen setting to take effect

Out of the 12 positions that you will see around the hosel circumference, the lower ones result in more fade to the right for a right-handed golfer. It results in a ball flight that is lower by nature.

The higher settings will result in more draw to the left for a right-handed golfer. This is because it creates a higher ball flight.

My advice would be that if you are an amateur, you would have a better experience if you pick a higher loft setting. This will allow you to have a higher launch angle than average, along with the added benefit of a lower spin.

However, if you are a professional player with more experience, you can go ahead and try keeping a lower left setting.

Taylormade R15 Driver Weight Adjustment

The second part of the R15 Driver that you can adjust is the front track system. This consists of the two sliding split weights on the sole. You can follow these steps to adjust the R15 Driver according to your needs:

  1. Use a wrench to remove the weights from their fixed positions.
  2. Push the weights to the sliding track’s center. This will result in the most effective ball flight.
  3. Push the weights to the extreme ends if you are looking for more forgiveness in your swing.
  4. If you’re looking for more fade, push both the weights to the toe of the Driver. This will result in a toe-heavy shot that will cause a ball flight oriented to your right side.
  5. If you’re looking for more draw, push both the weights to the heel of the Driver. Your ball flight, in this case, will move towards the left.

Adjustment on the R15 is a two-step process. Start with the loft and move on to the sliding weights. However, in order to ensure the best fit, I would recommend speaking to a professional before you take the R15 out for a game. But some level of manual adjustment can be incredibly helpful as you play.

Previous user experiences with the Taylormade R15 Driver’s adjustability of the loft and sliding weights claim that the Driver is easy to use. It creates a pleasant golfing experience. However, taking the help of a professional in setting your loft, particularly if you are an amateur, will prove to be beneficial for you.

These features of manual adjustment that cater to a wide range of players are what made Taylormade famous. Hopefully, now you have a better idea of how to go about adjusting your Taylormade R15 Driver to best suit your needs!
