How Do I Adjust My Cobra King F9 Speedback Driver?

Your Cobra King F9 Speedback driver comes with MyFly loft technologyand an adjustable center of gravity. This helps you adjust your speed back driver and fine-tune the trajectory.

To start the adjustment process, you will first have to tune the center of gravity.  For this, you use the adjustable weight technology present in the speed back drivers.

There are three custom weights: Lightweight (6 g), Mid-Weight (10 g, 14 g-Stock), and Heavy (18 g). These are Tungsten weights that help you with fine-tuning the trajectory and swinging the weights.

  1. You will need to start by changing the weight settings. Turn the wrench counterclockwise so that the weights become loose. Once they are loose, remove them.
  2. After removing both the weights, take the 14 g weight and place it on the setting you require. This would be either at the front or the back. Place the 2 g weight that remains in the empty port.
  3. Once you have placed the weight in your desired setting, it is now time to tighten them. You should use a wrench to turn the weights clockwise so that it gets tightened. Under no circumstances should you use your hands to tighten the weights. Wait for an audible click that denotes that the weight is tight.

In the front position, you will see the following settings –

  • Launch – Mid-low
  • Spin – Low
  • Trajectory – Fade-Biased and Workable

In the back position, you will see the following settings –

  • Launch – Mid-high
  • Spin – Mid
  • Trajectory – Draw-biased and Forgiving

To move forward with the driver adjustment, you will not have to change the eight adjustable loft settings. This helps you manage the spin, launch, and trajectory.

If the loft increases or decreases, you will see a change of +/- up to 1 degree in the trajectory and adjustment of +/- up to 450 rpm in the spin.

  1. Insert the wrench in the sole’s screw to loosen the loft.
  2. Turn it counterclockwise, so the shaft moves far from the head. This would let the shaft rotate so you can make the adjustments.
  3. To change the loft setting, you will need to rotate the shaft. You can see the change in the loft setting on the hosel sleeve’s window. Once you reach your desired setting, you can stop.
  4. You can now put the shaft in the head. Turn the wrench clockwise until you hear an audible click which ensures that the screw is tightly secured.

What Do The Weights Do On A Cobra King F9 Driver?

The weights on the Cobra King F9 are said to fine-tune the trajectory. There are mainly three different weights that you can use – light, mid-weight and heavy.

Depending on what swing weight you want, you can make the necessary adjustment.

Cobra King F9 Driver Weight Adjustment

You will find the following weights from Cobra King F9 –

  • 6 g
  • 10 g
  • 14 g (stock weight)
  • 14 g (women’s – stock weight)
  • 18 g

If you want to adjust the weight, you can follow the steps above. The package will have a wrench that you can use to remove the previous weights.

Start by turning the wrench counterclockwise until the weights come off.

Remove both the weights, and then place the ones you desire. You can use the 14 g stock weight for your front or back position.

Remember that you can use any of the other weights that you want to reach your desired adjustment.

If you use the 14 g stock weight, you will have an empty pot. That is why we have used the 2 g weight here. This will help you reach your preferred setting.

After you have placed the wrench, make sure that you tighten it properly. Do not use your hands, and always use a wrench to tighten them. In case the weights are loose, they can come off when you are taking a swing and cause accidents.

You can follow this method to make changes and use other weights. The weight adjustment is different for each player; hence you can keep changing them until you reach your preferred weight setting.

Some people prefer heavyweight in the back, while others might want it in the front. A heavyweight in the back can lead to high launches. On the other hand, heavyweight in the front will lower the flight of the ball.

Cobra King F9 Driver Draw Setting

A draw-bias setting will ensure that your ball flight is straight through higher lofts and lighter shafts. You can change the driver draw setting by lowering the loft.
