Ping Alta CB 70

This is a premium shaft from the manufacturer PING. The steel shaft features a counter-balance design that results in increased energy transfer as well as extra head mass.

It also incorporates color-shift paint technology that makes its vibrant copper-colored paint change to almost black at the point of address. This transition helps in the elimination of distraction at the point of address.

The Ping Alta CB 70 shaft is available in soft regular, regular, stiff, and x-stiff options for the Ping G400 hybrid.

Ping Tour 85

This graphite shaft incorporates chrome as one of its main elements. The shaft is typically fitted with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip although it can be used with other grips as well. It’s an aftermarket counter-balanced shaft and the manufacturer produces this shaft in association with UST Mamiya.

This shaft is available for an upcharge. The Ping Tour 85 shaft is available in stiff, x-stiff and regular variants for the Ping G400 hybrid.

Stock shafts are often preferred over custom ones. The main reason why they make a better choice is that they match the clubhead design perfectly and allow players to optimize their trajectories during the game.

Ping G400 hybrid shaft length

The shaft length of the Ping G400 hybrid is 45.75 inches. This is the standard length of a Ping Alta CB shaft.

The Ping Alta CB shaft is slightly smaller than the standard length of the Ping Alta Distanza shaft that is 46 inches.

It’s worth keeping in mind that golfers with slow swing speeds are often able to play better with flexible shafts. On the other hand, players who have fast swing speeds do justice to the game with sturdy shafts.

Similarly, a light and soft shaft will often help players with achieving a high launch whilst a stiff and heavy shaft is best suited for those who opt for a low trajectory.

If you’re still not able to make a decision yourself, you can seek the assistance of a PING authorized or certified club fitter who will be more than glad to recommend the right shaft for your Ping G400 hybrid.

The Ping G400 hybrid was introduced by the manufacturer as a forgiving club that helps to gain maximum distance. The maraging steel thin face helps to launch the shot farther and higher while preventing it from rolling too much on the green.

The club also has an ultrathin and lightweight crown and a cascading sole design with increased face flexing that promotes higher launch and reduced spin. The hybrid uses a stock Golf Pride Tour Velvet stock grip.
