The PING G430 SFT driver uses the 8-position Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel with loft adjustable ±1.5° and flat-lie settings reaching up to 3° flatter than standard. Its weight system is 22 g movable backweight. Factory lofts captured for this model run 10.5° to 10.5°.

Exact hosel settings
| Setting | Loft change | Lie family | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard dot | 0° | Standard | Factory baseline |
| Small + | +1.0° | Standard | Higher launch / more spin |
| Big + | +1.5° | Standard | Maximum loft increase |
| Small – | -1.0° | Standard | Lower launch / less spin |
| Big – | -1.5° | Standard | Maximum loft reduction |
| F | 0° | Flat | Stated loft with flatter lie |
| F+ | +1.0° | Flat | More loft while keeping the lie flatter |
| F- | -1.0° | Flat | Less loft while keeping the lie flatter |
PING publishes this system as ±1.5° loft adjustment with lie up to 3° flatter than standard. The F settings are the flat-family positions.
Use impact location before changing settings
| Strike | Typical effect | What to try first |
|---|---|---|
| High face | Often raises launch and reduces spin | If flight is already high and low-spin, do not keep raising the tee. |
| Low face | Often lowers launch and adds spin | Raise tee height slightly before changing loft. |
| Heel | Can add fade/slice gear effect | Improve centred contact before stacking more draw bias. |
| Toe | Can add draw/hook gear effect | Check strike before adding more draw/upright bias. |
How to adjust the hosel
- Support the clubhead and insert the correct PING torque wrench into the hosel screw.
- Turn counter-clockwise until the head releases from the adapter.
- Align the desired sleeve mark with the head reference mark.
- Fully reseat the head before tightening.
- Tighten clockwise until the torque wrench clicks, then stop.
- Change one variable at a time and hit several shots before changing another.
Best settings for this specific driver
| Goal | Best first move |
|---|---|
| Higher launch / more spin | Move one loft step higher first; test before jumping to the maximum setting. |
| Lower launch / less spin | Move one loft step lower first; test before jumping to the minimum setting. |
| More draw tendency | Use a standard-lie loft setting first; if you need less rightward start, avoid the F/flat family unless fitting data says otherwise. Then use Draw or Draw+ depending on how much slice correction you need. |
| More fade tendency | Try the F flat-lie family if you fight pulls/hooks or need a more fade-friendly lie; set loft separately. This head has no dedicated Fade weight position, so use lie/loft and strike rather than pretending the backweight can move to Fade. |
| Tighter dispersion | Return to the standard/neutral hosel and stock weight position, map strike location, then change one control at a time. |
Factory loft choices
| Loft | Best starting use |
|---|---|
| 10.5° | Only captured loft for this model; changing static loft means moving to a different driver/head. |
Spec combinations and warnings
- Trajectory Tuning 2.0 has eight positions: five standard-lie loft settings plus F, F+ and F- flat-family settings.
- The backweight only offers Draw and Draw+. Do not describe it as a Neutral/Draw/Fade system.
- This head is already draw-biased, so a left miss can get worse if you combine maximum draw weighting with a more closed/upright setup.
30-second baseline setup
- Start at the standard-dot/stated-loft setting.
- Start with roughly half the ball above the crown and mark impact.
- Keep the movable weight in its stock/neutral position while establishing loft, unless this model only has Draw/Draw+.
- Set launch first, then lie/directional bias, then movable weight.
- Re-check strike after every meaningful setting change.
Common mistakes
- Using an adjustment chart from the wrong PING hosel generation.
- Changing loft and movable weighting together, then not knowing which change helped.
- Treating a fixed weight as if it were a shot-shape slider.
- Assuming every PING backweight has Neutral/Draw/Fade positions.
- Continuing to tighten after the torque wrench clicks.
Disclaimer: Specifications and adjustment hardware can vary by model year, region and component configuration. Before loosening the hosel or movable weight, confirm the correct settings, compatible wrench and adjustment procedure with official PING documentation or a PING-authorized fitter for your exact driver.
