Check strike before changing the club
| High face | Often raises launch and lowers spin. |
|---|---|
| Low face | Often lowers launch and adds spin. Check strike before adding loft. |
| Heel | Can add fade or slice gear effect. |
| Toe | Can add draw or hook gear effect. |
How to adjust the hosel
- Support the head and use the correct PING torque wrench.
- Loosen the hosel screw counter clockwise until the head releases.
- Align the desired setting for this exact hosel generation.
- Fully reseat the head.
- Tighten clockwise until the wrench clicks, then stop.
Best first changes
| More launch | Add loft one step and re-check strike. |
|---|---|
| Less launch or spin | Reduce loft one step before using the lowest setting. |
| Right miss | Do not treat the hosel as a dedicated draw control. Fix strike and face delivery first. |
| Left miss | Reducing loft can make the club present slightly more open; test the actual ball flight. |

Common mistakes
- Using the chart from the wrong PING hosel generation.
- Changing several settings before testing the first change.
- Continuing to tighten after the torque wrench clicks.
Disclaimer: Hosel settings can vary by generation and configuration. Confirm the correct PING wrench and adjustment chart for your exact club before loosening the head.
