Callaway Rogue Driver Adjustment Guide + (CHART)

Callaway Rogue driver adjustment

Is the Callaway Rogue driver adjustable?

Yes, the Callaway Rogue driver is adjustable. The driver has a premium design and offers an optimum blend of speed, stability and high MOI. The large sweet spot makes the lightweight Rogue driver highly forgiving and is suitable for golfers with various handicap levels.

How do I adjust my Callaway Rogue driver?

The Callaway Rogue driver can be adjusted using the Optifit hosel. The loft of the driver can be increased or decreased 1-2 degrees by rotating the hosel.

The Callaway Rogue driver set encompasses three drivers comprising the Callaway Rogue driver, the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero and the Callaway Rogue Draw drivers.

Each of the three drivers is fitted with an OptiFit hosel and encompasses two cogs one above the other. The rotation of one cog is not dependent on the other. The hosel, along with the cogs, allows for eight different combinations of loft and lie angles.

In addition to the standard or default loft setting, the loft of the driver can be decreased by 1°. Alternatively, the loft can also be increased by 1° or 2°. The standard and +1 settings are on the lower cog. The upper cog can be rotated to set the -1 and +2 adjustments. Both the cogs feature the Neutral (N) setting and the Draw (D) setting for the lie angle.

As for the weights, the Callaway Rogue and Callaway Rogue Draw drivers don’t support any adjustable weighting. The Rogue Draw driver has more weight in its heel than the Rogue driver.

On the other hand, the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver has a 14g weight in the rear and a 2g weight in the front. These two weights are swappable.

Players find that raising the loft of all three Callaway Rogue drivers helps them to gain a higher launch and more spin than with their standard lofts. In contrast, lowering the lofts of the drivers promotes less spin and low launch.

Among all the three drivers, the Callaway Rogue Draw driver is the most ideal for golfers who want to hit a draw. On the other hand, the extremely forgiving nature of the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver makes it a good choice for amateurs and/or beginners who want a low spin.

Callaway Rogue driver OptiFit hosel settings

The OptiFit hosel of the Callaway Rogue driver can be set by adjusting the two cogs present on it. The movements of these cogs are in no way dependent on each other. Both cogs feature loft and lie angle settings.

  1. Fit the Callaway wrench into the screw at the rear of the clubhead of the driver.
  2. Turn the wrench counterclockwise until you notice that the screw has become loose.
  3. Lift the clubhead gently from its position and remove it from the club shaft.
  4. Rotate the lower cog and choose the +1 option to increase the loft by 1°. On the other hand, rotate the upper cog and choose the -1 or +2 option if you want to decrease the loft or raise it to the maximum extent possible.
  5. Align the desired loft marking with the white dash on the hosel.
  6. Rotate the upper cog and choose the N option if you want a Neutral setting or the D option if you want a Draw setting for the lie angle. This is possible only if you’ve selected the S or +1 option for the loft using the lower cog. Alternatively, you can rotate the lower cog and select the N or D option if you selected either the -1 or +2 option for the loft using the upper cog.
  7. Align the preferred lie angle setting with the loft setting selected in Step 4.
  8. Replace the clubhead taking care to align the white dash on the clubhead with the above markings.
  9. Refit the wrench into the screw and turn it clockwise till you hear a double-click sound. This sound indicates that the clubhead has been seated securely in position.

Callaway Rogue driver draw settings

The Callaway Rogue driver can be easily set for a draw by means of a two-step process. The first step involves increasing the loft of the driver. The second step entails choosing a draw setting for the lie angle.

  1. Put the Callaway wrench into the screw at the back of the clubhead.
  2. Do a few turns of the wrench to the right until the screw gets loose.
  3. Raise the clubhead and remove it from the club shaft.
  4. Rotate the lower cog to the +1 setting or the upper cog to the +2 setting and align the chosen loft with the white line marked on the hosel.
  5. Select the D setting from the lower cog if you opted for +1 or the D setting from the upper cog if you opted for +2.
  6. Ensure that the D setting is aligned with the white line and the loft selected in Step 4.
  7. Put the clubhead back making sure to line its white dash marking is in line with the above settings.
  8. Tighten the screw to secure the clubhead in place by turning the wrench in the opposite direction until you hear a double-click sound.

Golfers experience more spin and higher launch with a draw setting than with the standard setting. The clubface of the driver is also closed marginally. The draw is more pronounced with the +2 setting than the +1 setting.

Callaway Rogue driver neutral settings

The Callaway Rogue driver can be set for a neutral setting by adjusting one of its two cogs. The cog that is set depends on the loft of the driver.

  1. Insert the Callaway wrench into the screw behind the clubhead of the driver.
  2. Turn the wrench to the right until the screw is loose and you can remove the clubhead from the club shaft.
  3. Align the N mark on the appropriate cog with the white dash marking and loft marking on the cog. If you opt for the S or +1 setting for the loft from the lower cog, you must choose the N setting from the upper cog. However, if you choose the -1 or +2 setting for the loft from the upper cog, you must choose the N setting from the lower cog.
  4. Put the clubhead back over the shaft making sure to align its white marking with the settings done earlier.
  5. Turn the wrench in the opposite direction to tighten the screw and stop when you hear a double-click sound.

Players have noticed that they produce a fade with the Neutral setting. This setting also promotes a Draw marginally although not as much as the Draw setting. The Neutral setting also generates a negative side spin.

Callaway Rogue adapter fade settings

The adapter of the Callaway Rogue driver can be set for a fade by lowering the loft of the driver and setting the lie angle to neutral.

  1. Put the Callaway wrench into the screw present on the clubhead at the rear.
  2. Turn the wrench a couple of times in the counterclockwise direction and loosen the screw.
  3. Raise the clubhead and take it off from above the club shaft.
  4. Align the -1 marking on the upper cog with the white dash on the club hosel.
  5. Line the N marking on the lower cog with the -1 marking with the white dash and loft aligned earlier.
  6. Place the clubhead back with the white dash marked on it in line with the earlier settings.
  7. Turn the wrench in the clockwise direction till there is a click sound that ensures the clubhead is seated firmly in place.

Golfers who set the adapter of their driver to a fade have experienced that the clubface opens up marginally at the time of impact.

Best Callaway Rogue adapter settings for slice

The adapter of the Callaway Rogue can be set for curing a slice by adjusting the two cogs to set the driver for a draw.

  1. Fit the wrench into the clubhead of the Callaway driver through the screw on its back.
  2. Rotate the wrench to the left so that the screw is quite loose.
  3. Lift the clubhead upward and remove it from the club shaft.
  4. Set the D marking on either the upper or lower cog on the hosel in line with the white dash on the hosel as well as the preferred loft setting. You will have to opt for the D setting on the upper cog if you choose the +1 or S loft setting on the lower cog. Alternatively, you must use the D setting on the lower cog if you decide on the +2 or -1 loft setting on the upper cog.
  5. Reseat the clubhead aligning the white line on it with the above settings.
  6. Tighten the clubhead to seat it in place by rotating the wrench to the right.
  7. Stop the rotation when you hear a fairly loud double-click sound.

Golfers find that the above adjustment helps them to get rid of or cut down on their slice while increasing the chances of promoting a draw at the same time.

How to adjust Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver

The Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver can be adjusted the same way as the Callaway Rogue driver in the same series. The effect of the adjustment is also identical in both the drivers.

  1. Insert the wrench into the clubhead screw located behind the head.
  2. Do a few anticlockwise turns so that the screw gets loosened to the maximum extent possible.
  3. Pull the clubhead in the upward direction and remove it from the shaft.
  4. Align the desired loft marking on the appropriate cog with the white dash marking on the club hosel.
  5. Align the preferred lie marking with the above setting. The choice of cog depends on the cog used for the loft setting. If the loft is set using the lower cog, you’ll have to set the lie using the upper cog and vice versa.
  6. Put the clubhead back with its white dash mark in line with the desired loft, lie angle and hosel marking.
  7. Tighten the screw loosened earlier by turning the wrench clockwise till there is a click sound signaling that the turning must be stopped.

Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver weight settings

The Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver comes with a pair of weights at the front and the back. The driver comes with a heavier weight placed at the rear. However, the weights can be interchanged using the Callaway wrench.

  • When the heavier weight is moved to the front and the 2g weight is repositioned to the back, the spin is reduced by approximately 300rpm. However, the distance increases by a few yards. This setting paves way for driver instability and is ideal for players who tend to hit the center of the driver most of the time.
  • When the heavier weight is at the back and the lower weight is at the front, the launch angle and spin increase considerably. The driver tends to be more forgiving than with the weights positioned the other way round.

How to adjust Callaway Rogue Draw driver

The adjustment of the Callaway Rogue Draw driver is identical to that of the Callaway Rogue and Callaway Rogue Sub Zero drivers and involves using the Callaway wrench as well as adjusting the two cogs.

  1. Put the wrench into the screw present right behind the clubhead.
  2. Turn the wrench towards the left side and loosen the screw as much as possible.
  3. Remove the clubhead gently from the club shaft.
  4. Line the white dash on the hosel with preferred loft marking on the suitable cog.
  5. Align the desired lie marking using the other cog. The N mark highlights a Neutral setting while the D mark represents a Draw setting.
  6. Insert the club shaft back into the clubhead with the white dash on the head in line with the earlier settings.
  7. Secure the clubhead in position by turning the wrench the same number of times as in Step 2 to the right side.
